The Way of Love: Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life
Wednesday evenings, September 12 – October 24, Wyatt Hall
You may have seen or heard our Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry, talk about our being “the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement.” This summer, he also launched a new opportunity, called “The Way of Love: Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life. (You can learn more here: https://www.episcopalchurch.org/way-of-love/invitation.)
This fall, we will focus on a seven-week series of spiritual practices that ++Curry has suggested, both on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings.
Sunday’s focus will include special lectionary readings, prayers and sermon.
Wednesday’s focus: We will also offer something new this fall: an inter-generational gathering every Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. On Wednesdays, we will enjoy dinner and conversation, then we will explore The Way of Love, Practices for a Jesus-Centered Life. We will focus on these spiritual practices: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless, Go, and Rest.
Each week we focus on a verse of scripture, then discern how we are being called to walk more closely with Jesus. We will gather for dinner and discussion from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Yes, there will be a program available for the youth (ages 6 – 12), and yes, child care will be provided. So put this in your Google calendar (or real “on the wall” or “on the refrigerator” calendar) and plan to bring your family! Also, we’re doing Potluck, so bring a dish to share with you and several people.
P.S. This Wednesday gathering replaces the one we’ve done on Saturday evenings. So make the switch with us!
